Hi, I'm Steve.

A self-motivated and hardworking Agile Coach with experience of working with new or existing teams, to help them transition into a group that trusts and works efficiently together.

Possessing drive, determination, and a strong work ethic, I have first-class analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure. Utilising data-driven decisions, despite being a servant leader, I'm always ready to roll up my sleeves and help the team; whether identifying and removing impediments, providing coaching, addressing issues around team health or empowering my colleagues.

Communicating transparently and effectively, I can present technical and non-technical information to customers, stakeholders and colleagues (at all levels). Working with key stakeholders I can play a central role in facilitating the identifcation of the most valuable high-level business objectives. And encouraging key players to discuss pit-falls as early as possible, to keep delivery goals achievable. While the team work towards agreed goals I can provide reporting dashboards to update key stakeholders.

Agile Coaching

What is Agile Coaching?

Agile coaches guide individuals and teams to identify the change they require, and to highlight where current reality doesn't match the businessses aspirations, taking action to close the gap in order to deliver business results that matter. The coach helps the team/department/organisation to examine a high level view of the desired change.

Facilitating

The role of the facilitator is to actively help an Agile team work better by improving their communication and collaboration and assisting them in embracing change and new ideas or ways of working.

Coaching

Agile Coaches work with teams to improve teamwork and ways of working. In some cases, the coach may serve in a hands-on role to get the team on track with the aim of transitioning those responsibilities back to the team.

Teaching

The teacher increases the team's knowledge, or improves upon already-established skills. Involving the learners as much as possible in the learning activities, ensuring it's interactive, fun and challenging will help to motivate them.

Mentoring

The Agile Mentor guides the team, giving feedback and tips for improvement, whilst answering questions. This collaboration happens across different levels and roles, leading to overall organisational growth.

Cooperation is the thorough conviction that nobody can succeed unless everybody does.

But that can be easier said than done, especially when similar groups of talented individuals experience vastly different scales of perceived success. To be successful it's necessary to remain neutral, and not to be seen by the team as an agent of [someone else], or to allow myself to become embroiled in office politics.

Listening is a key skill, not so I can jump into a conversation at the first opportunity, but to take time to consider what I'm being told and assess how I can make a positive impact.

I'm focussed and self-organising which allows me to balance my workload and achieve the highest-value goals or things which will make the most impact for the organisation.
